The 2019 Honda Civic: Rediscover Honda’s Heritage: THE Icon, THE Classic, THE Original
Honda is more or less a victim of its success with its popular Civic since it is relatively difficult to transform a model already so popular with drivers. What to do in this case? Do not change the characteristics for which consumers voted for with their wallets and simply add subtle improvements to the lineup here and there. Fortunately, this is the direction that the Japanese manufacturer has chosen to take, and you are invited to visit Okotoks Honda, your local Okotoks dealer just minutes from Calgary, proudly serving all Okotoks, Calgary, High River, De Winton and surrounding areas. Make the trip to Okotoks and see why the 2019 Honda Civic is the best selling Car in Canada for 21 years!
Subtle Changes That Are Worth the Detour
At first sight, the 2019 Honda Civic doesn’t seem very different from the previous model. However, the front of the vehicle has undergone small changes that will not go unnoticed by the most observant among you: the upper part of the front wing is now painted in black and the front grille now forms a whole rather than three separate sections as on previous models. More importantly, a Sport version (only available on hatchbacks until now) has been added to the model’s sedan and coupe variants. This new version will include black accents on the lower part of the front grille, black 18-inch wheels and a central exhaust pipe similar to the one found on the Civic Si. Finally, the safety and driver assistance suite Honda Sensing is now standard on all Civic (and will be on all Honda models by 2022), providing them with a collision avoidance system with safety warning, a road exit mitigation system with an unintentional lane departure warning and an adaptive cruise control.
A Familiar Performance
On the performance side, Honda didn’t try to reinvent a winner model and most consumers will be pleased with it. The Honda Civic still comes in DX, LX, EX, Touring and Si on the sedan and coupe versions and now a limited Sport version on both sedan and coupe models. The basic version of the model comes with a 2-liter, 4-cylinder engine capable of generating 174 horsepower. The higher versions can be equipped with turbo or turbo directly injected engines that can generate respectively 180 and 206 horsepower. Plus, the Civic Type R remains available for fans of performance (300 horsepower!) and reliability.
